2018 Palatine Hundred Vine
Reserve Red IV 2018
Our Hundred Acre Series wines are 10% barrel fermented using indigenous yeasts and are unfined and unfiltered. Our goal is finesse-driven, complex and powerful wines. This Central Coast Red is made from grapes grown on 25+ year old vines. This family-owned vineyard is most well known for its iconic quality for over four decades. Limited barrels of this Cabernet Sauvignon blend were produced.Approximately 50% of the vines are a minimum of 25 years of age with some lots of Syrah are upwards of 35 years. The age of the vines result in yields that rarely reach 2 tons per acre and the soils are unusually rocky and sparse.$30
2016 Palatine Seven Hills
Reserve Block XIII Cabernet Sauvignon
After sorting and crushing the Cabernet vinification begins. The wine is stored for 20 months in 3/4 new French Oak barrels from a variety of French Coopers (Darnajou, Taransaud). Throughout the aging process, wines are racked to and barrels are topped. After 20 months, the wine is drawn off from the oak barrels and put into holding tanks to prepare for bottling, but before they do that, the wines have gone through meticulous blending processes.$90SOLD OUT
